To create a peaceful and secure atmosphere for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024, an important meeting took place at the Collectorate in Garhwa. The meeting was led by Suleman Chaudhary (IPS), Police Observer for Assembly Constituencies 80-Garhwa and 81-Bhawanathpur, along with Saransh Mittal (IAS), General Observer for the 80-Garhwa Assembly Constituency. Key attendees included District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuar, Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey, CRPF-172 Commandant Nripendra Kumar, and several CAPF officers responsible for overseeing the electoral process.
During the meeting, Police Observer Chaudhary highlighted the importance of CAPF officers in ensuring peaceful elections, urging them to run public campaigns that encourage citizens to vote without fear. The Superintendent of Police and CRPF Commandant shared updates on the current situation in Garhwa district, pointing out challenges faced by residents and urging officers to address any issues that arose.
Chaudhary instructed the officers to stay alert and ensure smooth election proceedings, emphasizing the necessity of balancing friendliness and assertiveness while interacting with citizens, voters, candidates, and political party representatives. He directed them to enhance visibility through campaigns, set up night check posts, and take proactive measures to prevent criminal activity, thereby creating a secure voting environment.
General Observer Mittal reminded the officers about the significance of punctuality on polling day and the importance of following all operational protocols, particularly regarding the security of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He expressed the desire for the Assembly General Elections 2024 in Garhwa to replicate the peaceful atmosphere witnessed during the previous Lok Sabha elections. Other notable attendees included Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Rahul Dev Baraik, 2IC Amarendra Kumar Singh, and Company Commanders from various security forces.
