DU launches CSAS for UG admissions for 2024-25

Delhi University (DU)on Tuesday launched the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for undergraduate admissions for  the academic year 2024-25. The varsity will enrol single-child girl students in every course from this year as part of supernumerary seats, DU registrar Vikas Gupta said.

 At a press conference here, dean admissions Haneet Gandhi said the CSAS website has been opened for registration for students. DU has also opened admissions for the School of Open Learning as well as Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB).

The admissions will be based on CUET scores for some courses and class 12 marks for other courses. The press conference was also addressed by Payal Mago, director SOL. After the press conference, Dean of Colleges Professor Balram Pani formally launched the CSAS portal by pressing the button on the laptop keyboard. A bulletin of Information was also released on this occasion.

Registrar Gupta said on the basis of CUET score, admission will be done in 79 programs out of about 71,000 seats in undergraduate Programmes. He informed that a total of 183 combinations are available in BA programs of 69 colleges/departments.

 The Registrar said the second phase of CSAS will start after the declaration of CUET result. He informed that the admission process for SOL will start from June 3 while the admission process for “Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB)” is starting from Tuesday itself.

 While sharing the information so far regarding the registration process, Gupta said the registration process for Post Graduate (PG) programmes, B.Tech and five-year law integrated programs was started from April 25. The first allocation list of these programs may be released by June 20. He said according to the registrations done till May 27, 80,346 registrations have been done in PG, 9052 in B.Tech and 7362 in five-year law integrated programs. The University of Delhi offers 79 Undergraduate Programs and 183 B.A. Program combinations through its 69 Colleges. The University had announced the eligibility criteria for various programs through its Bulletin of Information, in English and Hindi, on February 27, 2024. The Bulletin stated the requirements of minimum eligibility, CUET papers to be selected as per the program-specific eligibility, and detailed seat matrix of all the programs of all colleges of the University.

Once a seat has been allocated in a particular round, the candidate must “Accept” the Allocated Seat before the last date/time specified for the given allocation round. The provision for acceptance of a particular Allocated Seat will be valid only for the round in which the seat was allocated to the candidate.

Inactivity/no-action will be taken as non-acceptance to the Allocated Seat. In case a candidate is offered multiple seats in a particular round, s(he) must “Accept”, and take admission in only one Allocated seat. Once the candidate “Accept”, the provisionally Allocated Seat, the concerned College will check the eligibility and validity of the documents uploaded by the candidate. The College will verify the documents and accord its approval. Upon receiving the approval, the candidates will have to pay the admission fees within the stipulated time.

The University of Delhi has identified 26 Games/Sports under its Sports Supernumerary Quota and 14 categories (including NSS and NCC) under the Extra Curricular Activities supernumerary quota. It has been decided that 5% of the total sanctioned strength of the College shall be allocated for ECA and Sports supernumerary quota.  The College can allocate between 1% to 4% to ECA and Sports, subject to a maximum of 5% intake of the College. In addition, not more than 20% seats of the earmarked seats of the quota shall be allocated to a single program.
