Drug free society will ensure an effluent State: CM

Chief Minister Champai Soren today participated in the "State Level Awareness Against Drugs" program organized at Morhabadi Ground. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said in his address that the State Government is committed to creating a drug-free Jharkhand. The State Government is running special awareness campaigns to inform the people about the ill effects of drugs. People are being appealed to stay away from drugs by doing extensive publicity through various means at village, mohalla, panchayat, block, district and state level. The Chief Minister said that at present, drugs are being widely spread. Especially drug smugglers are making the youth addicted to drugs in schools, colleges etc.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government is continuously taking action against drug smugglers. On the basis of information, the police administration has destroyed opium cultivation at many places. Brown sugar, ganja, doda etc. drugs have also been recovered. Hundreds of accused have been sent to judicial custody. The district police has busted an interstate gang involved in drug smuggling and action is being taken by identifying the supply chain.

The CM said that youth are the future of our state and country. A prosperous state can be built only by keeping the youth drug-free. The Chief Minister said that any family or society can move forward on the path of progress only by staying drug-free. Drug addiction causes destruction in human life. Drug addiction is a physical danger. Drug addiction damages the body.

The CM said that if the youth remain in the grip of drugs, it will have a negative impact on their lives as well as the future of the state and the country. Under no circumstances will the youth of the state be allowed to fall into the grip of drugs. The Chief Minister said that today is the day for all of us to take a pledge and pledge that we will inspire ourselves as well as others to stay away from drugs and will play our important role in building a drug-free society. On this occasion, the book 'Jharkhand Government is fully committed to stop drugs' was also unveiled by the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

In the state level awareness program against drugs, human chain, bicycle race, children's marathon race etc. programs were organized.

On this occasion, Minister Satyanand Bhokta, Chief Secretary L. Khiangte, DGP Ajay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel, Secretary of Women, Child Development and Social Welfare Department Manoj Kumar, Secretary of Tourism Department Manoj Kumar, DG CID Anurag Gupta, IG CID, DIG Ranchi, Deputy Commissioner Ranchi, Senior Superintendent of Police Ranchi along with other dignitaries and school students were present.
