Dristi NGO organized a vibrant Diwali celebration at Meher Orphanage, running from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. This initiative aimed not only to spread joy but also to promote cultural awareness and community engagement among the children in celebration of the festival of lights.
The event featured a variety of creative activities designed to engage the children and allow them to explore their artistic talents. Among these activities were diya painting and lantern making. Each child was provided with materials to create their own unique pieces, giving them the opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of these traditional symbols. This hands-on experience fostered creativity and encouraged self-expression, with many children enthusiastically sharing their completed works.
A key highlight of the celebration was the distribution of chocolates, which brought immense joy and excitement to the children. Volunteers from Dristi, including Nihal Verma, Harsh, Arpita, Ayushi, Isha, Shristi, and Suruchi, along with other volunteers, were instrumental in making this moment special. Following the festivities, this session included engaging speeches and informative posters aimed at educating the children on safe practices during the festive season.
