Drinking water sold 20 Rs for 1 litre of water in trains

Wednesday, 19 June 2024 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Travel by any train passenger or express one is to buy 1 litre of bottled water at 20 rupees, which is 8 rupees more than the prescribed rate. All in the name of the cold or chilled water. But this is not.

Vendors prefer selling local bands more than the railway Neer. It's all for commission per bottle. The commission for railway Neer is far less in comparison to the local bands of the bottled water in the trains

No passenger is in any position to challenge the price for the fear of losing bottled water in the train.

There is no check on the price of the drinking water in this cruel summer. Vendors extort the passengers. Vendors cheat passengers  most in the long distance trains.

Daltonganj railway station superintendent Umesh Kumar said the passengers are to complain about it.

He said how the water tap of the cold water booth has been stolen by the passengers here in the Daltonganj railway station.

Once rains come, everyone forgets about water and its crisis.
