Thursday, 20 June 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The Abua housing scheme, which was started with the aim of providing comfortable houses to the poor homeless people in the rural areas of Jharkhand state, is now slowly taking tangible shape. Under the scheme, 20 lakh houses are to be constructed. In the scheme moving towards its physical goal, approval has been given for the construction of two lakh houses for the year 2023-24. In the financial year 2024-25, approval will be given for the construction of 4 lakh 50 thousand houses, so that the needy people can get housing on time.

Sujit Oraon, a resident of Kanke block of Ranchi, is happy. Every day he is seeing his broken mud house turning into a concrete house. There are lakhs of Sujits like them, whose residence is now taking the shape of Abua Awas. Like Sujit, other people have laid the foundation of Abua Awas from the first installment received from the state government.

After the order of Chief Minister Champai Soren, Sujit Oraon and other beneficiaries are getting the second installment of Rs 50 thousand, with which they will complete the construction work of the house up to the lintel level. Similarly, under the third installment, an amount of one lakh will be given to complete the casting of the roof and under the fourth installment, an amount of 20 thousand rupees will be given, so that they can complete their house.

Under the Abua Housing Scheme, approval is to be given for construction of two lakh houses in the financial year 2023-24, 4 lakh 50 thousand in 2024-25, 4 lakh 50 thousand in 2025-26, 4 lakh 50 thousand in 2026-27 and 4 lakh 50 thousand in 2027-28. At present, approval has been given for construction of two lakh houses in the financial year 2023-24. Regarding this, the Chief Minister has given clear orders to review the progress of housing construction by geo-tagging the houses under construction on time. Also ensure to upload caste certificate and other documents quickly, remove errors related to Aadhar card by coordinating with the concerned bank, complete the housing fast by releasing the installment on time and to conduct continuous review with the district and block to complete the houses.
