Doctors strike hampering health services in Bhopal, elsewhere in the State

The health services are badly hit across the state, 17 operations were conducted in Hamidia, 144 in AIIMS in Bhopal.

Due to the doctors' strike, a total of 17 operations were conducted in Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal. More than 50 operations are conducted here on normal days. At the same time, 2500 OPD patients come to the OPD daily. 1550 patients arrived here on Friday.

Similarly, AIIMS has more than 5 thousand OPDs, 4,460 patients arrived on Friday. 144 operations were conducted. More than 225 operations are conducted here on normal days.

OPD will also remain closed in private hospitals in Bhopal from tomorrow. After Hamidia and AIIMS in Bhopal, now OPD will also remain closed in private hospitals from tomorrow.

Dr. Anoop Hajela, President of Association of Health Care Providers of India, MP Chapter, said that only emergency facilities will be available in many hospitals of the city including Akshay Heart, National Hospital, Hajela, Gastro Care and Siddhanta. Routine OPD will be completely closed.

Advocate Abhishek Pandey said that the Junior Doctors Association talked about indefinite strike. The High Court Division Bench had given an instruction, in which medical facility comes under essential service. This causes trouble to the patients. Under this, doctors cannot go on any kind of strike. We have filed a PIL against the violation of the High Court order.

Dr. Rakesh Malviya, Chief Convenor Government Autonomous Doctors Federation, Madhya Pradesh, said that in this entire protest, many associations across the state stopped work from 12 noon to 1 pm. In this, more than 17 thousand doctors from across the state were on strike.

United Doctors Federation, Chikitsa Mahasangh, Progressive Medical Teachers Association Madhya Pradesh, Medical Officer Association Madhya Pradesh, Junior Doctors Association Madhya Pradesh, ESI Medical Officer Association Madhya Pradesh, Medical Officer Medical Education Madhya Pradesh, Home Department Association Madhya Pradesh.

OPD remained closed for 1 hour in many private hospitals of Bhopal. Patients were not seen in OPD from 12 noon to 1 pm in many private hospitals of Bhopal.

Doctor JP Paliwal from Paliwal Hospital said that we had pen down for an hour today. During this time, we requested the OPD patients, told people why we are doing this.

After this, the patients also cooperated in this. Apart from this, all kinds of emergency facilities remained operational here.

Junior doctors in Indore also took to the streets in protest against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. They protested by sitting on the road.

Junior doctors of Bhopal AIIMS staged a street play outside the gate. During this, they described the situation of entry of bullies in the hospital and misbehavior with the doctors.

The matter of doctors' strike in Madhya Pradesh has reached the Jabalpur High Court. A PIL has been filed regarding the matter of going on strike by stopping essential services. It will be heard today itself. Narsinghpur petitioner Anshul Tiwari has said that Madhya Pradesh has nothing to do with the Kolkata incident, yet the doctors have gone on strike.

In Raisen district hospital also, about 35 doctors were on symbolic strike by tying black bands from 12 noon to 1 pm. After closing the OPD, all Doctors protested by raising slogans in the hospital premises. Due to which health services were disrupted. Patients were seen getting upset. Dr. Alok Rai said that security should be guaranteed by implementing the Central Protection Act.

The situation is worsening due to the strike of doctors in Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Rewa. Patients are not getting treatment here. There is no one to tell how and when to take the medicine.

Doctors are also on strike in Indore hospitals. Patients coming to OPD here are not getting treatment. However, Collector Ashish Singh said that health services will not be allowed to stop due to the strike. Alternative arrangements are being made.
