Liver and kidney transplants services are to be introduced soon at the government-run Dau Kalyan Singh (DKS) Super-speciality hospital in Raipur, it was announced on Wednesday.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said Rs 6 crore has been approved for the procurement of liver and kidney transplant equipment, an official statement said.
Jaiswal said this facility would benefit not only the patients from the capital but also from neighboring states.
A state-of-the-art ICU has been established at the DKS Hospital, he added.
Additionally, he shared plans to establish advanced model hospitals in six districts of the state to offer super-specialty services.
Jaiswal indicated that there were plans to start an IVF Center at the state-run Bhim Rao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital (BRAMH) in Raipur.
He also mentioned plans for constructing a modern post-mortem facility at BRAMH, equipped with the latest devices.
“A new virtual machine for post-mortem procedures is being installed at BRAMH which will feature the most advanced technology in the country, significantly expediting the process of post-mortem,” Jaiswal added.
