It's a whopping 61.52 lakh rupees worth auctioning to the Disney Land Mela here in Daltonganj. Sadar SDO Anurag Kumar Tiwari said that in all 5 people had submitted the tender papers.
However, just 3 of the 5 took part in the bidding, said Tiwari. Two backed out from the bidding. One of the three bidders Pawan Kumar Gupta finally bagged the contract for 61.52 lakhs of rupees.
Sadar SDO said last year this Disney Land Mela was auctioned for little over 55 lakhs. However this financial year there is a jump of straight 6 lakhs of rupees for the state exchequer.
According to the public relation office the duration of the Disney Land Mela is authorised from 20 July to 20 September.
Disney Land Mela is very popular with the masses here. It has in fact uprooted the charm of the circus.
Close to the venue of the DisneyLand Mela here is held a magic show which is also a good spectator puller.
Sources said there is fun and frolic here for a month here now.
Residents say Palamu is reeling under a long dry spell which directly affects the agriculture activities here but here the poor save money for such a recreation like Disney Land Mela no matter how miserable life is.
