Monday, 01 April 2024 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad workers protested outside the police commissioner's office on Sunday afternoon demanding strict action against the culprits in the RGPV corruption case. They raised slogans against the police department and the corrupt.

Earlier, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad had surrounded Gandhi Nagar police station two days ago. A memorandum in this regard was also given to the Police Commissioner on Friday. Let us tell you that bank employee Kumar Mayank was recently arrested by the police.

According to Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) had recently demonstrated against the ongoing economic corruption in Rajiv Gandhi Technological University (RGPV), after which the accused were exposed after investigation.

Names of 5 people including Registrar Sunil Kumar were among the accused. After the FIR of the said case was lodged with Gandhinagar Police, the police arrested one accused and action is not being taken against the remaining accused. ABVP says that the police should take strict action and the culprits should be punished, if the police administration will work with a lax attitude like this, we will also protest further in this regard. Due to the demand of ABVP, a first information report has been lodged by the university administration under serious sections in Gandhi Nagar police station under Bhopal district against the persons guilty of corruption. But despite registering an FIR under serious sections, not a single major accused has been arrested by the police administration.

In the case of transfer of Rs 19.48 crore from RGPV's account to a private account, the Vice Chancellor in-charge of the university, Prof. Mohan Sen had lodged an FIR in Gandhi Nagar police station. In this, the then Registrar of the University RS Rajput, retired Finance Controller Hrishikesh Verma, the then Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunil Kumar, RBL Bank employee Kumar Mayank and Dalit Sangh Sohagpur were accused of irregularities.
