Ranchi DC cum District Election Officer Varun Ranjan held a review meeting related to the Assembly Elections 2024 with the nodal officers of all the cells, BDOs, COs at the Collectorate on Sunday. During this, the DC directed the concerned officials to ensure that the guidelines of the Election Commission of India are followed.

The DC, while giving instructions to all the concerned officials related to the election, said that all the polling stations should have (MMF) for sure, which should ensure that all the things like signboards, help desks, toilets, drinking water, separate entry and exit gates, lighting, furniture, ramps are there in the polling stations. Also, all the concerned Block Development Officers and Zonal Officers should go and do the physical verification. Apart from this, make a list of which polling stations have the facility of MMF, where alternative arrangements are being made by them. So that all the arrangements can be ensured in advance.

Regarding the assembly elections 2024, the DC has asked all the Block Development Officers and Circle Officers to make a list of sensitive booths where any unpleasant incident or dispute has occurred during the previous elections. Make a list of this soon so that police force can be deployed at these sensitive booths and vigilance can be increased.

The DC instructed all the concerned officials to coordinate with the concerned police station in-charge by holding a meeting regarding good security arrangements at the polling stations. Also, ensure that there is adequate police force at sensitive booths. While instructing the officials related to the election, he said that all route charts should be checked properly, where big vehicles cannot reach the polling stations, provide small vehicles there. Pay special attention to the fact that the polling party does not have to walk much with EVMs.
