In a meeting held on Wednesday at the Collectorate office chamber, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav convened the district unit of the Indian Red Cross Society. Attendees included Civil Surgeon Dr. Dinesh Kumar, District Cooperative Officer Sweta Gudiya, In-Charge Officer General Branch Kumar Kanishk, District Public Relations Officer Saket Kumar Pandey, Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar, and other medical professionals.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the details of the Red Cross Society members. The Cooperative Officer informed that while the society has a total of 457 members, elections and reorganization for positions such as President and Secretary have not been conducted for many years, leading to a lack of accurate membership data. The Deputy Commissioner instructed that the election and reorganization of the Red Cross Society should be carried out using the available member data.
There was an in-depth discussion on the election calendar. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to set dates for the sale of nomination forms, filing of nominations, scrutiny, and the election itself. Officials were directed to publicize these dates through various channels.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner discussed potential activities that could be undertaken by the Red Cross Society to benefit the general public and enhance the society's internal revenue collection. Detailed plans and necessary directives were provided for these initiatives.
