Corruption is the biggest attack on our moral values: Sonekar

Under the Vigilance Awareness Week 2024, a special lecture was given by Mr. Abhishek Sonekar of CBI on the topic of the culture of integrity for nation prosperity at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal. At the beginning of the program, office head Suryakumar Pandey introduced the speaker Mr. Abhishek Sonekar. The program was presided over by Surya Kumar Pandey.

On this occasion, Shri Abhishek Sonekar explained the history of vigilance, its importance and the working style of the Central Vigilance Commission through a power point presentation. After this, he gave detailed information about the establishment and functioning of the vigilance departments in the CBI and the institutions of the Central Government.

Sonekar further said that corruption is like an infectious disease. No sphere of life is free from its effect. It is important to encourage all people to stop corruption spread at various levels in the society. It is important to make people aware about all the incidents happening around them and encourage them to provide evidence during the investigation process of the security agencies.

People have to develop honesty in themselves. Corruption is the biggest blow to our moral life values. Corruption can be eradicated only by spreading awareness among people across the world against it.

On this occasion, office head Surya Kumar Pandey said that acting against accepted values in public life is corruption. Corruption is a tendency, people are aware of their rights but do not want to perform their duties, this is also a corrupt practice. At present, it is important for us to be cautious while sharing data on social media. In the programme, Mr. Abhishek Sonekar answered a series of questions from the audience present. Thereafter, Surya Kumar Pandey honoured Abhishek Sonekar by presenting him a memento of the museum. Program coordinator, Deepak Chaudhary conducted the program and at the end of the program, the administrative officer of the museum, Hemant Bahadur Singh Parihar expressed his gratitude.
