The Bhopal MP & MLA court has sentenced former Congress MLA from Kalapipal assembly seat Kunal Chaudhary to imprisonment till the rising of the court.
In 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come to address a farmers' conference in Sherpur of Sehore district. During PM Modi's visit to Sehore, Kunal Chaudhary was arrested by the police on the charge of protesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit by showing black balloons. The case was heard on Tuesday and the MP and MLA court sentenced Kunal Chaudhary and his two companions.
According to information received from Congress leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was coming to Sehore to address a farmers' conference. Since then, the central government had promised to double the income of farmers in 2014 itself. But, the income of farmers did not increase, rather the cost increased due to inflation.
Congress leaders had announced to protest against the Prime Minister's visit to Sehore. But, the police came and arrested him from outside the state Congress office in Bhopal and registered a case.
Congress leaders' lawyer Muhammad Shafiq said that the police had registered cases under 143, 341 for illegally gathering a crowd and preventing people from coming and going.
In the hearing held on Tuesday, the court acquitted the Congress leaders in 341, but in the case of illegally gathering people under section 143, Kunal Chaudhary, Sameer Khan Betul and Rohit Rajouria Bhopal were sentenced till the rising of the court.
