Amidst reports of alleged leak of papers of NEET, UGC-NET etc, the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday made a significant move in the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination paper leak case.
Following a report by the UP Special Task Force (UP STF), Edutest, the company responsible for conducting the recruitment examination, has been blacklisted by the state government.
According to information, the UP STF issued four notices to Vineet Arya, the company’s owner, but he failed to respond. The owner allegedly slipped out of the country and has so far made no communication in response to the notice served on him by the STF in connection with the police constable recruitment examination paper leak.
Edutest, an Ahmedabad-based company, was given the responsibility of conducting the constable recruitment exam. This company had given the contract to a logistics company of Noida to deliver the constable recruitment exam paper. The officials of Edutest had inspected the warehouse of the transport company, owned by Shubham Mandal. On the instructions of Rajeev Nayan Mishra, Mandal opened the box kept in the warehouse and took the recruitment paper out.
Later, on the basis of the statement of Rajeev Nayan Mishra of Prayagraj, who played an important role in leaking the paper, the police intensified the search for mastermind Subhash Prakash. Once the leak was discovered, the authorities summoned Vineet Arya, the owner of Edutest. However, he did not appear. It was later revealed that Arya had travelled to the United States and had not returned since.
Earlier in February 2024, the Uttar Pradesh government cancelled the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam for a total of 60,244 posts due to paper leak. More than 48 lakh candidates had applied for this exam. While cancelling the exam, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had assured to conduct the examination again within six months. The police recruitment board will soon release the new exam date (UP Police Constable Re-Exam Date 2024). Candidates are advised to continue their preparation and keep an eye on the official website of Uttar Pradesh Police Promotion and Recruitment Board.
Meanwhile, sources said that preparations have been started to conduct the cancelled constable recruitment exam for UP Police again. This time, security arrangements are being checked at many layers to ensure that there is no disturbance in the exam. To conduct the exam again, the police recruitment board has sought a report from the superintendents of police, senior superintendents of police and police commissioners of all the districts. The recruitment board has sought a report regarding the security arrangements at the treasuries of the districts. The recruitment board has asked whether the treasury premises of the districts are safe to keep the examination material or not? Is there a double lock system in the treasuries or not? If yes, then the keys of both the locks should be with different officers.
