Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday unveiled the logo of the Biswa Odia Bhasha Sammilani here. The tagline is ‘Language is the future’.
While unveiling the logo of the conference, which will be held from February 3 to 5 in Bhubaneswar, Patnaik wished for its grand success.
"The conference will be an ideal platform for the exchange of views among intellectuals, researchers, scholars, and students," Patnaik said on the occasion.
The CM said Odisha was the first State in modern India formed on linguistic line. The Odia language by gaining the status of one of the classical languages has enriched the glory of the State and the language itself.
The Sammillani which will be organized for the first time ever aims to lay focus on the past, present, and future of the Odia language and set goals for its propagation in times to come, he said.
Patnaik further said that as a medium of a powerful heritage and history, Odia language’s popularity will be increased among the future generation and discussions will be made to thrash out strategies to propagate the language by the use of modern technology.
Notably, eminent linguists and language researchers from around the world will participate in the event. The Heritage Cabinet, chaired by the CM on December 19 last, had decided to hold the Sammillani in February.
