For the first time in Madhya Pradesh, all the festivals falling in the month of Savan were celebrated with enthusiasm this year. Rakshabandhan festival celebration continued throughout the month of Sawan.
Spiritual colors enhanced the beauty of the state during Rakshabandhan. On the call of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, a series of Rakshabandhan-Savan festivals started in the state from August 1, which ended with Rakshabandhan on August 19. Ministers, MPs and public representatives celebrated Rakshabandhan in their respective areas and got Rakhi tied by the sisters.
Chief Minister Yadav himself participated in 23 programs organized in different districts. It happened for the first time in the state that the Chief Minister along with the Cabinet members celebrated the festival by visiting urban and rural areas. The atmosphere kept resonating with the songs of Sawan for 19 consecutive days.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav started the Rakshabandhan Shravan festival on August 1 from Chitrakoot, the city known by the name of Lord Shri Ram, and Chitrangi in Singrauli district. In the first celebration of Rakshabandhan, the Chief Minister had announced that in August, 1 crore 29 lakh Ladli Behnas of the state will be given Rs 250 in addition to Rs 1250.
This announcement of Chief Minister Yadav was fulfilled in a function organized on August 10 in Vijaypur of Sheopur district. The Chief Minister transferred Rs 1500 each simultaneously to the accounts of all the eligible Ladli Behnas through a single click. In the Ladli Behna Sammelan organized in Chitrakoot, Chief Minister Yadav had said that the festivals of our country connect everyone. The whole world is amazed to see the festivals of India.
The sages started the tradition of the festival thousands of years ago to maintain love and harmony in society. To maintain this tradition, the state government has decided that every festival in the state will be celebrated with full dignity and enthusiasm. This was started with the festival of Rakshabandhan.
Yadav celebrated Rakshabandhan at Jabera and Narsinghpur in Damoh district on August 03, Shajapur on 4th August, Balaghat on August 05 at Chief Minister's residence Bhopal on 9th August, Tikamgarh and Vijaypur in Sheopur district on on 10th August, Rabindra Bhawan Bhopal and Mandla on August 11 at Chief Minister's residence and Bhainsdehi in Betul district on August 12, on August 13 at Kushabhau Thackeray Hall Bhopal, on August 16 at Dindori and Anuppur, on 18 August at Suman Garden, Shivanjali Garden, Avantika University Ground and Hotel Solitaire in Ujjain and on 19 August at Khachrod and Nagda.
During the festival celebrations, Chief Minister Yadav interacted with the Behnas and informed them about the schemes and efforts run by the state government for their empowerment. Ladli Behnas of the state tied Rakhi to the Chief Minister and also symbolically presented a big Rakhi. Much enthusiasm was seen among them towards Rakshabandhan-Savan festival.
The women self-help groups presented their ready products to the Chief Minister. Mehndi stalls and swings were also set up for the sisters during the festival.
The Chief Minister also rocked them on the swings. The women were benefited from beneficiary-oriented schemes during Rakshabandhan-Shvan festival.
