CM pays tribute to Nirmal Mahato on his 37th Martyrdom Day

Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute to Amar Shaheed Nirmal Mahato on his 37th martyrdom day by offering flowers at his samadhi sthal in Uliyan, Kadma. The Chief Minister, along with several dignitaries and members of the public, gathered to honour the legacy of the revered leader.

 

Nirmal Mahato, a prominent leader and a martyr in the struggle for Jharkhand's statehood, remains a symbol of courage and sacrifice for the people of the state. His unwavering commitment to the cause of Jharkhand and his leadership in the movement for a separate state have left an indelible mark on the region’s history.

 

Soren, in his tribute, spoke passionately about Nirmal Mahato’s contributions and the enduring impact of his work. "Amar Shaheed Nirmal Mahato ji’s life was a testament to the power of dedication and the pursuit of justice. His sacrifices have laid the foundation for the Jharkhand we see today. As we honor his memory, we must continue to work towards the ideals he stood for," said the Chief Minister.

 

Soren, who was greeted by local leaders, members of Nirmal Mahato’s family, and a large gathering of supporters and admirers. The Chief Minister, accompanied by other officials, walked to the samadhi sthal and offered floral tributes. The atmosphere was charged with emotion as the attendees observed a moment of silence in honor of the martyr.

 

Following the tribute, several leaders and dignitaries spoke about Nirmal Mahato’s life and legacy. They recalled his role in mobilizing the people of Jharkhand and his efforts to unite various communities under a common cause. The speakers emphasized the importance of continuing his mission of social justice and development for the state.

 

Nirmal Mahato’s martyrdom in 1987 was a pivotal moment in the history of Jharkhand’s struggle for statehood. His vision and leadership inspired countless individuals to join the movement, ultimately leading to the formation of Jharkhand as a separate state in 2000. His legacy is celebrated not just as a leader of the statehood movement, but as a champion of the rights and aspirations of the people.

 

Hemant Soren’s tribute was not just a recognition of Nirmal Mahato’s historical significance but also a reaffirmation of the state government's commitment to upholding the principles for which he fought. "We must carry forward the mission that Nirmal Mahato ji began. It is our responsibility to ensure that Jharkhand continues to progress, with justice and equality as our guiding principles," Soren added in his address.

 

Floral tribute was paid to the statue of the departed leader, who was gunned down on this day in 1987 in front of the Chamaria guest house at Bistupur area.
