Chief Minister Hemant Soren participated in the "Aapki Yojana-Aapki Sarkar-Aapke Dwar" program at Dobo Cashew Bagan ground under Chandil block, marking a significant milestone in the state’s development efforts. During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for numerous development projects worth ₹555 crore in East and West Singhbhum districts. In addition, assets amounting to ₹472 crore were distributed among 84,899 beneficiaries in both districts.
Addressing the large gathering, Chief Minister Soren emphasized the state government's commitment to reaching every citizen through ambitious welfare schemes. He personally oversees the implementation of these projects to ensure they make a tangible impact at the grassroots level. “Despite the rain, your overwhelming participation reflects your support and gives us the strength to continue working for the betterment of Jharkhand,” he remarked.
Social Security and Pension Reforms: The Chief Minister spoke about the government's strides in social welfare. He noted that under the Sarvajan Pension Yojana, all eligible elderly, disabled, and widowed individuals are now receiving pensions directly, eliminating the need for intermediaries who previously exploited the system.
No Starvation During COVID-19: Reflecting on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Soren proudly shared that no one in Jharkhand went hungry during the crisis. He credited this success to the state’s proactive measures, including ensuring food distribution even in remote areas. “We not only protected lives but also secured livelihoods during those difficult times,” he said.
Women Empowerment: Women's empowerment remains a top priority for the state government. Soren mentioned that over 50 lakh women are beneficiaries of the Jharkhand Chief Minister Manian Samman Yojana, aimed at enhancing their dignity and well-being. He also urged parents to prioritize higher education for their daughters, with the government actively supporting girls’ education through initiatives like the Savitribai Phule Samriddhi Yojana.
The Chief Minister laid out his vision for a future where families no longer need to rely on local moneylenders for financial needs like education, marriages, or medical emergencies. “We are working towards a system where each family will receive financial support from the state, reducing dependence on loans,” Soren said. He also reiterated his government’s commitment to providing concrete homes for the houseless under the Abua Awas Yojana, targeting 20 lakh families in the coming years.
During the event, development projects worth ₹555 crore were inaugurated, benefitting both districts. In East Singhbhum, projects worth ₹303 crore were initiated, while West Singhbhum saw the launch of projects valued at ₹252 crore. Moreover, assets totaling ₹472 crore were distributed, with East Singhbhum beneficiaries receiving ₹301 crore and West Singhbhum beneficiaries getting ₹170 crore.
On this occasion, Minister Satyanand Bhokta, Minister Banna Gupta, Minister Deepak Birua, Minister Ramdas Soren, MP Joba Manjhi, MLA Niral Purti, MLA Sukhram Uraon, MLA Dashrath Gagarai, MLA Mangal Kalindi, MLA Sanjiv Sardar, MLA Savita Mahato, Chairman, Minorities Commission Hidayatullah Khan, Vice Chairman, Cow-Service Commission Raju Giri, Commissioner of Kolhan Division Hari Kumar Keshari, DIG Manoj Ratan Fourthly, East Singhbhum and West Singhbhum districts. Many officers of the district administration including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police were present.
