CM fiat to speed up teachers’ recruitment, increase number of SoEs

Chief Minister Champai Soren today reviewed the progress of works of the Department of School Education and Literacy in the presence of officials in the Jharkhand Ministry. During the review, the CM directed the officials to ensure that the appointment of 11 thousand posts of Intermediate level trained Assistant Professor by 15 August 2024 and the restoration of 15 thousand posts of Graduate level trained Assistant Professor by 5 September 2024 is done at all costs.

He said that the state government is committed to fill the vacant posts of teachers. The target set by our government for teacher recruitment has to be achieved by accelerating the work progress accordingly, for this purpose all the processes of teacher recruitment should be completed as soon as possible.

The CM told the officials that our government is continuously working to strengthen the educational systems in the state. It is the moral responsibility of all of us to ensure that the students studying in schools do not face any hindrance in their studies due to lack of teachers. He directed the officials to complete all the processes of appointment to 3538 posts of tribal language and 8418 posts of regional languages soon so that the study of tribal and regional subjects can be started in primary schools for the preservation and promotion of rich tribal and regional languages in the state.

The CM directed the officials to issue appointment letters to 1511 primary teachers selected on the basis of final counselling in the light of the judgment passed in similar cases. He told the officials that the department should make a necessary action plan to restart those schools within the state which were closed due to difficult geographical problems.

Soren, while reviewing the free text book, uniform distribution, Chief Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme and cycle distribution scheme, directed the officials to provide text books to the students of classes 1 to 12 on time. The officials informed the CM that the work of supply and distribution of textbooks to students of classes 1 to 12 is going on in the year 2024-25. Textbooks will be made available to all the students compulsorily within the stipulated time limit. The Chief Minister directed the officials to achieve 100 per cent target by expediting the distribution of uniforms. Under the Chief Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme, the scholarship amount for the year 2023-24 and 2024-25 should be compulsorily DBTed in the bank accounts of the students of classes 1 to 12. The officials informed the Chief Minister that the scholarship amount for the financial year 2023-24 is being DBTed to the eligible students of classes 1 to 12. At the same time, after the receipt of the amount for the year 2024-25, the process of DBT will be started.

The CM directed the officials to expedite the work of distribution of scholarship amount and bicycles. While reviewing the CM School of Excellence schools, the CM directed the officials to expedite the action plan to increase the number of Chief Minister Utkrishta Vidyalayas in the state. It is the priority of the state government to provide quality education to the students studying in the state schools. The educational system in schools has to be strengthened at all costs. It should be ensured that there should be no shortage of electricity, water, toilets and cleanliness of school premises in all the government schools of the state. It should be ensured that there should be no hindrance in the system of digital education and smart class studies for the students studying.

The Chief Minister also gave many important guidelines to the officials while doing a thorough review of other works being done by the department including vocational education, Nipun Samagam-2024, school certification, prize distribution among meritorious students under the Chief Minister's Incentive Scheme, Inclusive Education Midday Meal Scheme under Samagra Shiksha.

Chief Secretary L. Khiangte, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Arwa Rajkamal, Secretary of School Education and Literacy Department Umashankar Singh, State Education Project Director (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) Aditya Ranjan, Director Primary Education Shashi Ranjan, Administrative Officer Jharkhand Education Project Council Jayant Mishra and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
