DC Palamu Shashi Ranjan has directed the city commissioner Md Jawed Hussain an IAS officer to 'see Panki assembly constituency'. 

This Panki assembly constituency is not simply an arena of electoral fight this vidhan sabha election rather it is a war field of extreme religious bigotism. 

There is a leader here who never stops widening the chasm between the Hindus and the Muslims. 

Quite recently there happened a case where a Muslim boy eloped with a Hindu girl. 

The case was purely a criminal case and the police were well capable of handling it and the police handled it well. But, passions were aroused in the name of the religion. There were public exhortations to teach a salutary lesson to the boy's family. 

SP Reeshma Ramesan said our police acted swiftly and it saved the situation from going any worse. 

Here in the Panki assembly constituency leaders give away "Aam ki Larki" to Chhath devotees. Can this be given when model code of conduct is enforced? 

Again sarees are offered to women irrespective of performing Chhath Puja or not. Can this freebie be allowed in the model code of conduct? 

There is one version that it's a matter of Astha (faith) hence it can't be tamed. It is allowed. But, there is another version that these two items come in the categories  of freebies which the model code of conduct just prohibits it sternly. 

All eyes are on the instructions of the state chief electoral officer Jharkhand K Ravi Kumar. 

This correspondent spoke to CEO K Ravi Kumar on Thursday today who said "When model code of conduct is enforced such distribution is strictly prohibited. It will be a violation of the model code of conduct."

K Ravi Kumar further said "No leader or candidate can go for distribution of cash or kind at all. No such material as you said, can be doled out. Let it be very clear to one and all."
