A 57-year-old CISF ASI who was badly injured while extinguishing a fire at Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) in Bhopal, died on Sunday. They had reached here on February 26 to extinguish the fire.
As soon as he picked up the fire extinguisher, he tried to open it. He burst out. Due to which his jaw was fractured. There was also a serious head injury. He was undergoing treatment for the last 21 days.
Govardhan Prasad Sharma, originally a resident of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, lived with his family in the BHEL complex.
His son Shubham Sharma said my father was posted as ASI in CISF. On February 26, a fire broke out while drilling at the BHEL plant. The father was on duty at this time, he tried to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher.
As soon as the cap of the device was opened, it exploded. The cap which came out at high speed hit his jaw. Due to which many fractures occurred in the jaw. There were injuries on the face and head also. After the incident, he was admitted to a private hospital by his friends. Since then he has been undergoing treatment.
According to family members, Govardhan Prasad Sharma's condition also improved. But, on March 13, his health suddenly deteriorated again after did not regain consciousness after this. He died on Sunday morning. Police have handed over the body to the relatives after postmortem. The last rites will be performed in Raipur.
