Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand successfully organised the 5th Edition of the ICT Conclave, focusing on the theme "Unlocking Future Growth: The Synergy of AI and Data Strategies for the Next Era." Held in the city, the conclave attracted key leaders from diverse industries who engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the critical convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data strategies, seen as pivotal growth drivers for India’s future digital transformation.
The event was inaugurated by Ranjot Singh, Chairman of the CII Jharkhand State Council and Managing Director of Emdet Jamshedpur Private Limited, who spoke on the transformative power of digitalization. He highlighted the substantial progress India has made in digital revenue, quoting, “We are part of an economy valued at $5.5 billion in digital revenues, projected to grow to $55.37 billion by 2032.”
Sarajit Jha, Chief of Business Transformation Services & Digital at Tata Steel, emphasized that India is now at the forefront of data-driven decision-making, with data centers serving as the country’s most rapidly expanding assets. “India leads in per capita data consumption, and 40% of all global digital transactions happen here,” he added, urging Indian SMEs to capitalize on this digital infrastructure.
Former CII Jharkhand State Council Chairman, Tapas Sahu, underlined the significance of AI’s potential to improve efficiency and productivity. He shared a case study contrasting human and AI-driven legal decision-making, where AI proved far more efficient, resolving cases within hours rather than days. He urged industries to embrace this paradigm shift.
Ujjal Chakraborti, EIC of Tata Steel Tinplate Division, stressed the importance of the AI-data collaboration, which will reshape industries, fuel innovation, and help businesses stay competitive globally. “Data is the new oil, and AI is the engine refining it,” he remarked.
Shivam Kamani, Co-Convenor of the ICTE, Startup & Innovation Panel, celebrated the success of CII’s efforts in promoting technological growth and digital adoption across industries. He noted that the Digital India Mission and various government initiatives have created an environment conducive to technology adoption, especially for MSMEs in Jharkhand.
The conclave featured key industry speakers, including representatives from Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, SAP, Tata Consultancy Services, and Amazon Web Services, who shared their perspectives on how AI and data strategies can drive digital transformation and support India’s growing digital economy.
With over 204 participants representing 102 companies, the ICT Conclave 2024 laid the foundation for future collaborations, driving Jharkhand's industrial sector into the next era of intelligent digital growth.
The conclave underscored the urgent need for data accuracy, AI integration, and digital adoption, positioning Jharkhand as a key player in India’s digital future.
