A woman from Khunti was held hostage for 15 days in Genetic Hospital in Ranchi. The woman's husband alleged that the hospital management was not allowing his wife to go home due to non-payment of the outstanding amount. She is not being discharged from the hospital.
The woman was pregnant. On May 28, an auto driver took her to a private hospital instead of RIMS. After the delivery, the child was sent home but the woman remained in the hospital. The husband has said in his complaint that for 15 days, his wife was neither being treated nor was she being given food there.
The woman's husband complained about this to CID DG Anurag Gupta. After that a team of CID and a team of Sadar police station reached the hospital and freed the woman from there. The woman has been sent home. At present the hospital management is being questioned in this matter. According to the news received, an FIR will be registered after this.
