Making a big announcement in the cultural capital Kashi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the next two years, one lakh youth would be recruited in the UP Police. He further said that not only this, in the coming two years, two lakh youth would be linked to government jobs.

Chief Minister Yogi was addressing the state working committee meeting and membership workshop of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at Trade Facilitation Centre in Bada Lalpur, here on Sunday.

“Today there is no discrimination against the youth in the state. Youth are being linked to government jobs in a fair and transparent manner. In the last seven and a half years, we have given jobs to more than six and a half lakh youth. Just yesterday (Saturday), we successfully completed the written examination of the biggest police recruitment process in the state, which will give more than 60,200 youth a chance to serve in the police force,” he said.

During his address, Yogi Adityanath gave tips on politics to the youth and called upon them to choose politics for the establishment of values and ideals in accordance with the principles.

“Politics should not be a means of attaining power or achieving self-interest but should become a medium for the promotion of values of state interest and national interest,” he said.

While giving the mantra of meaningful politics to the BJYM workers, Yogi Adityanath drew attention towards the teachings of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “Always remember one thing, politics without principles is a noose of death. We should not get trapped in temptation and no matter what happens, we should not compromise with our values,” he said.

Regarding the changing perception of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi said that when one works to provide employment to the youth, the result is in front of everyone. “Today the youth in the state are getting jobs in their districts and villages and every big investor of the country wants to invest in UP and the state has become the second largest economy in the country,” he said, adding that all this has happened due to the focus on youth power.

“We are going to make the state the number one economy of the country in the next 3-4 years,” he said. He gave the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers the target of making the organisation number one in every sense.

Yogi said that in the Global Investors Summit held in February 2023, the state received investment proposals worth Rs 40 lakh crore. “About 1.5 crore youth will get employment from this and the youth will not have to wander in any other state. Employment will be available in their own district and village,” he said, adding that electricity is now available 24 hours a day in the state and the condition of roads has improved.

According to Chief Minister Yogi, earlier, UP was at the first position in terms of population but at the seventh position in terms of economy. “Today the growth in the economy of UP has become a topic of discussion not only in the country but also in the world and this has been possible only due to collective efforts. In seven and a half years, we have succeeded in making the state the second largest economy, while within three-four years we are going to make it the number one economy of the country,” Yogi said.

Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party and Congress, Yogi said that it was very strange that today they (opposition leaders) were seen performing aarti for votes. “Remember, these are the same people who do not hesitate to give shelter to those who spew venom against the country,” he said, adding who does not know the faces of SP.

“The Congress ruled the country for the longest time but it opposed Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar,” he said, appealing to the BJYM workers, reminding them that their role has increased in such a situation and they will have to play a big role in safeguarding the interest of society.

On this occasion Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president Priyanshu Dutt Dwivedi, national general secretary and Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, state general secretary Amod Goyal, Devendra Patel, Harshvardhan Singh, regional president Shailendra Maurya, Anubhav Dwivedi, Rajesh Rajbhar, Ranjit Rai and others were present.
