Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya under the celebrations of its 48th Foundation Day is organising various programmes and activities at its premises from 21and 23 March, 2024. The inauguration ceremony of the program will be held on March 21 at 6:00 pm with the inauguration of the exhibition 'Vastra Katha: Indian Textiles, Stories and Culture' in the Veethi Sankul premises of the Museum.
After that, the Foundation Day will be inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp of Kerala 'Al-Vilakku' with 1001 lights. After this, about 180 traditional artists of Chhattisgarh state will perform in the celebration of regional cultures. In which Sufi singing by Padmashree Shri Madan Chauhan, Danda dance under the direction of Rajendra Verma, Folk drama Dasmat directed by Shri Rakesh Tiwari, Karma dance of Surguja district by Pandit Ram and team, Muria dance of Bastar district by Shri Butulu Ram and team and cultural presentations will be given by the people of Chhattisgarh residing in Bhopal.
On this occasion on March 21display and sale of art and craft items will be held from 11.30 am onwards and from 1.30 pm onwards traditional dishes of Chhattisgarh state will be available to the visitors at reasonable prices in the Vethi Sankul premises of the museum.
A two-day seminar on Chhattisgarh art and culture will be organized at Shailkala Bhawan on March 22 from 11 am. Along with this there will be display and sale of art and craft items, and from 1.30 pm traditional dishes of Chhattisgarh state will be available to the visitors at reasonable prices Along with this there will be a book exhibition and bibliography on the subject of art culture of Chhattisgarh in the reference library at 3 pm Will be inaugurated.
The 19th annual IGRMS lecture will be organized at Shail Kala Bhawan from 4 pm onwards in which the lecture will be given by Professor KK Mishra former Vice Chancellor of Utkal University and former director of Manav Sangrahalaya. Thereafter from 7 pm in the Veethi Sankul Antarang Bhawan premises performing arts by the people of Chhattisgarh residing in Bhopal.
