Chief Minister Champai Soren today ruled out that newly elected Gandey (Giridih) MLA and wife of former chief minister Hemant Soren will be inducted into the ministry.

While talking with media persons here at Dhanbad circuit house in a query over whether Kalpna Soren would be inducted in the expansion of ministry likely to be held soon, the chief minister said that he has no information about it.

The Chief Minister's remarks assume  importance as on Tuesday, the Chief Minister met former Chief Minister and her husband Hemant Soren at Birsa Munda Hotwar jail. Congress Chief Gulam Mohamamed Mir accompanied her. Prior to Tuesday's meeting, she had also met Hemant Soren with Chief Minister Hemant Soren at Hotwar jail.

Also there was speculation that five months ahead of assembly polls, the Champai Soren-led coalition government in Jharkhand may witness a cabinet expansion in July. Jailed former CM Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana could be one of the inductees.

There are two vacancies in the Champai's Cabinet and both may be filled to send a political message before assembly polls. Kalpana had won Gandey assembly by-election in May. In the runup to parliamentary elections, she emerged as the party's star campaigner in the absence of Hemant, who has been lodged in jail since January in connection with a money laundering scam linked with an alleged land grab.

On the induction of new ministers in government, Champai Soren said that there is no plan of ministry expansion at hand so far. If the ministry will be expanded he will inform it duly.

However, the chief minister said that all (expansion of ministry and induction of new ministers) will be cleared in two or three days. The CM claimed that his Mahagathbandhan government is strong and is engaged in development work after the Lok Sabha election.

The chief minister had arrived here in the afternoon to lay foundation stones worth around Rs 400 crores and distribute property among beneficiaries.
