CBI team scrutinizes Oasis school documents

In the NEET paper leak case, the CBI team on Thursday took Dr. Ehsan Ul Haq, the principal of Oasis School to school premises for further investigation.

The CBI team scrutinized documents at school premises. Earlier on Wednesday, the CBI team reached the principal's residence and questioned him for about three hours. After this, the CBI team reached the school with the principal at around 12 o'clock. Here also the principal and the teachers and staff of the school involved in the conduct of the examination were questioned. During the interrogation that lasted till five in the evening, the team also inspected room number 18 of the school. After this, the employees of Blue Dart, the courier company that delivered the question paper, were brought to the school and questioned.

 After the investigation, the principal of the school and another person from the school were arrested by the CBI. After the arrest, both were brought to Charhi CCL Guest House and questioned overnight. Let us tell you that the half-burnt question paper of NEET UG 2024 was found from a private school located in Ramakrishna Nagar, Patna. Its serial code was of Oasis School examination center located at Mandai Road, Hazaribagh (Jharkhand). Investigation by the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has revealed that the solved PDF copy of the question paper reached the mobile of the arrested accused Baldev Kumar alias Chintu through Sanjeev Kumar alias Lutan Mukhiya on the morning of the examination date i.e. May 5, 2024. After which it was made to memorize the candidates.

After receiving information related to the serial code of the half-burnt question from NTA on July 20, it became clear that this serial code belongs to Oasis School located at Kallu Chowk, Mandai Road, Hazaribagh. After this, the EOU team went to Hazaribagh and verified it. In the verification, prima facie tampering has been found in the packing trunk.

Meanwhile, in another development the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of its ongoing probe into the alleged irregularities in the NEET- UG exam, on Thursday arrested two individuals from Bihar’s Patna, sources said.

These are first arrests made by the federal probe agency in the NEET- UG alleged paper leak matter.

According to the sources, the two accused allegedly provided safe space to the aspirants prior to the exam who were also aided to prepare for the exam.
