Children from all government, non- government aided, non- aided, minority and private schools from across the State participated in a mega campaign against the use and consumption of drugs and narcotics on June 22.
As per the directives issued by the Department of School Education and Literacy of Jharkhand Government and Jharkhand Education Project Council, a Prabhat Pheri was taken out at 7 am in all the schools across all the districts where children tried to awaken social consciousness against drug abuse through message oriented pictures, slogans and posters. Children took out rallies around their school and also urged the common people to join the campaign against drugs. Slogan writing, painting and speech competitions were also organised where children enthusiastically participated.
Under this campaign, a cycle rally will also be taken out by the school children on June 24 with an aim to spread awareness in the society against drugs and narcotics. Awareness messages against drug abuse will also be read in prayer meetings on June 25 in the schools.
The campaign will conclude on June 26 on the occasion of World Anti-Drug Day. On this day, children who win various competitions will be rewarded at the school level and there will also be a resolution meeting against drug addiction in schools.
