The Hemant Soren government has decided to waive loans up to Rs 2 lakh of the farmers in State. In the cabinet meeting held at Project Bhawan on Wednesday, the proposal to waive loans up to Rs 2 lakh of the farmers of the state was approved. For this the government will spend an amount of Rs 750 crore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
In today’s cabinet meeting, 37 proposals were approved. Under this, the cabinet will now look into the matters of central agencies. Cabinet approved an increase in the amount of Manki Munda Gram Pradhan. Approval was given to give 6 thousand to Manki, 4 thousand to Munda Gram Pradhan, 2000 to Padha Raja. The employees of Bihar Transport Corporation will join Jharkhand, approval was given for adjustment of 619 employees in Jharkhand. 8 candidates will be appointed to the post of district judge. The guidelines of the Hospital Rejuvenation Scheme were approved.
Meanwhile, the implementation of farmers loan waiver will be through direct benefit transfer. Only one member of a family will get the benefit in the scheme, which can be verified with any type of ration card. One rupee will be charged from the applicant as a service charge for the application.
From time to time, the government has been announcing the waiver of agricultural loans up to Rs 2,00,000 for farmers. In this regard, the meeting of the State Level Committee set up for this scheme was held on 14.06.2024. In the light of the decision and recommendation taken in the meeting, there is an effort to increase the scope of the scheme and to extend its benefits to more and more indebted farmers of the state.
In the financial year 2024-25, the limit of Jharkhand Agriculture Loan Waiver Scheme was increased from Rs 50,000/- to Rs 2,00,000/- (two lakhs). The cut-off date will be 31.03.2020. The government will spend about Rs. 750.0 crores in this item. Pay banks in Jharkhand which issue short term crop loan / KCC as per the guidelines of the Government of India / Reserve Bank of India. Those banks will be included in this scheme.
In another cabinet decision while establishing sub-divisional prosecution office at Nagar Untari in Garhwa district and Chandil in Seraikela-Kharsawan in Jharkhand state, approval was given for creation of posts of Additional/Assistant Public Prosecutors and non-gazetted employees for conducting the prosecution work.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to the proposal to accommodate 619 employees of Bihar State Transport Corporation and give them retirement benefits. These employees will be considered accommodated from July 1, 2004. This will incur an additional burden of Rs 50 crore.
