Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition (NFN) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) at Ispat Bhawan on 29th August 2024. Under this agreement, 2,300 Gift Milk packs will be distributed daily, free of charge, to students in CSR-supported and government schools. This initiative is part of NFN's flagship "Gift Milk Program," which aims to provide nutritional support to children and needy individuals through milk and other nutritious products. Established in 2015, the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition focuses on addressing malnutrition in India.
As per the agreement between BSL and NFN, 200 ml packs of flavored milk, fortified with vitamins A and D, will be distributed in six DAV-ISPSAT schools, two schools managed by the Bokaro Mahila Samiti, and 13 government schools. The program will run for nine months, covering a total of 150 distribution days.
The MoA signing ceremony was attended by Suresh Rangani, Executive Director (Finance & Accounts), Dr. B.B. Karunamay, Chief Medical Officer (BGH), Manish Jalota, Chief General Manager (HR-L&D), Kundan Kumar, Chief General Manager (Town Administration), Manikant Dhan, Head of Communications, Ardhendu Shekhar Nandi, General Manager (CSR), Shakti Kumar, District CSR Nodal Officer (Government of Jharkhand), and officials from NFN.
ED Suresh Rangani praised the MoA and emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring and effective resource utilization to ensure the success of this initiative. Dr. B.B. Karunamay highlighted that this program is a significant step toward addressing malnutrition among school-going children. Shakti Kumar shed light on the Gift Milk distribution program in Bokaro district and appreciated BSL's leadership in initiating this effort. Officials from NFN provided detailed information about the Gift Milk distribution process.
