SAIL-BSL’s Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mines (MIOM) has been awarded a 5 Star Rating for its commitment to sustainable mining, community welfare, and environmental protection for the year 2022-23 by the Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
The award ceremony took place in New Delhi, where the Hon'ble Minister of Coal & Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, and MoS for Coal & Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, presented the accolade to Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mines. Receiving the award on behalf of MIOM were R.P. Selvam (CGM, Mines), S.K. Singh (GM, Mining), and Hena Praveen (AGM E&L).
The Jharkhand Group of Mines of SAIL-BSL, under the leadership of Director-in-Charge B.K. Tiwari and Executive Director (Mines) Joydeep Dasgupta, remains dedicated to safe and sustainable mining practices. Their ongoing efforts and initiatives in this direction have consistently garnered recognition from various forums, reinforcing their commitment to excellence in sustainable mining.
