Officers in Hry asked to ensure proper storage arrangements for CMR rice

Chandigarh: Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Sumita Misra on Monday directed the officers to ensure proper storage arrangements for CMR rice. Presiding over the meeting with the officers of the food storage agencies regarding ensuring storage facilities for CMR rice, She emphasized that proper arrangements for storing the CMR rice produced from the current paddy season should be ensured promptly. She directed the officers to ensure that all necessary facilities in the warehouses are set up by the end of December so that when millers supply rice to FCI, there are no storage issues. This includes timely completion of tender-related tasks, repairs, and obtaining necessary approvals.

7th annual conference of ICTRIMS 2024 to be held in Chandigarh from Nov 14 to 16

Chandigarh: The 7th Annual Conference of the Autoimmune Subsection of Indian Academy of Neurology: Indian Committee of Research and Treatment in Multiple Sclerosis (ICTRIMS 2024) will be organised in Chandigarh, under the aegis of PGIMER Neurological Society from November 14 to November 16. This conference will open the doors to an array of academic discussions on demyelinating disorders in neurology. ICTRIMS 2024 will bring together a diverse range of topics, catering to the interests of both emerging and seasoned physicians, said the PGIMER Chandigarh official in a statement. About 7000 delegates would attend the ICTRIMS 2024 conference. A record number of scientific papers have been received which will be presented during the conference. PGIMER director Prof Vivek Lal as the Organizing Chairman and other key individuals such as Dr Dheeraj Khurana (Organizing Secretary), Dr Sucharita Ray (Joint Organising Secretary), Dr Kamalesh Chakravarthy (Treasurer & Associate Professor of Neurology),Prof Parampreet Kharbanda, and Prof. Manish Modi (Scientific Committee), said official.

Hry Minister asks officers to resolve issues of traffic jams

Chandigarh: Haryana Industry and Commerce, Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh on Monday said that for the infrastructure development of the Gurugram, work needs to be done at ground level to provide quick benefits to the public. He directed the officers to prioritise the rapid completion of road, sewage, and drainage works.  Singh said this while inspecting the arrangements of road, traffic management and drainage near village Dhankot on Gurugram-Jhajjar road. Singh said that Jhajjar road is a major link connecting Gurugram with other districts of the state, leading to heavy traffic pressure on this road. To avoid traffic jams in Dhankot village he directed officers to make a special action plan. He further directed PWD, GMDA, and Municipal Corporation officers to hold a joint meeting and resolve the issue within a stipulated time frame.

Administrator Kataria unveils Cyber Awareness Kiosks at UT Secretariat

Chandigarh: Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh on Monday launched the QR code-based Citizen Review Service and unveiled the Cyber Awareness Kiosks at UT Secretariat, Sector-9, Chandigarh. These two citizen friendly initiatives of Chandigarh Police are aimed at improving service delivery based on public feedback and cyber safety & raising cyber awareness.  In his address, Kataria congratulated Chandigarh Police for introducing these citizen friendly initiatives. He said that it is the right of citizens to evaluate police functioning and now they have been enabled to do so through a QR based public review system. This system to rank various police stations/units will develop a healthy competitive spirit amongst police officials which in turn will make governance more efficient and therefore benefit the public in general. This will assure the public that the administration is with them, for their welfare. This is a good step before the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kataria said that a similar police ranking system is in place in Rajasthan also.

Chandigarh Housing Board employee dismissed for alleged involvement in corrupt practices

Chandigarh: In line with the Chandigarh Administration's policy of zero tolerance against corruption, a Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) employee Bhuwan Chand, Junior Engineer (JE) posted in the Enforcement Wing, has been dismissed from service due to his alleged involvement in corrupt practices. In a statement, UT officials said that an FIR was filed against Bhuwan Chand JE  on November 5, 2024, on corruption charges by CBI. Subsequently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) laid a trap, leading to the accused's arrest. He was produced before the Special CBI Court and remanded to judicial custody.
