Awareness programs on New Laws to be held statewide on July 1: Hry DGP

Chandigarh: Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapur on Friday instructed Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to ensure that programs are organized at the police station level to generate public awareness about the three new criminal laws that will be implemented from July 1. He emphasized the importance of maximizing public participation in these programs. DGP Kapur conveyed this information during a video conferencing meeting with senior police officials across the state. He stated that raising awareness among the public about these three new criminal laws is important so that people can understand the changes and benefits of the new laws. During this period, they should also inform people about the stipulated timeline for resolving complaints according to the new laws. Regarding the awareness programs to be held on July 1, Kapur mentioned that police officers should invite prominent individuals to these events at police stations to help spread the information to a wider audience. He noted that the more people are informed about the new laws, the greater the benefit will be for them.

Chd MC Commissioner reviews preparedness for Swachh Survekshan 2024

Chandigarh: To make Chandigarh a contender for the top positions in Swachh Survekshan-2024, further emphasizing the city’s dedication to cleanliness and sustainability, MC Commissioner Anindita Mitra reviewed the action plan to be implemented for ensuring Swachh Survekshan-2024 and its impact on the city’s sanitation standards and empowering communities in a meeting with the MC's senior officials and staff on Friday. During the meeting, the indicators for Swachh Survekshan-2024 were discussed in detail, including parameters, the scheme of marking, and the roles and responsibilities of the concerned departments and wings. This year's Swachh Survekshan theme is RRR – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – highlighting the importance of sustainable waste management practices. The Commissioner said that the MCC’s unwavering commitment to progressive development has been acknowledged nationally, and the remarkable contribution from each officer and staff member of the MC has led to progress in solid waste management in the city. Through consistent efforts, the city has improved segregation and achieved 100% collection of segregated waste from households and commercial areas.

Work dedicatedly to form next Cong Govt in Hry: Hooda asks party leaders  

Faridabad: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday asked the Congress leaders and workers to continue working for the assembly election campaign on the ground. He appreciated workers for their full enthusiasm, performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections in the state and for remaining dedicated to the INDIA alliance with full energy. Addressing the party leaders in Faridabad, Hooda said, "Safe Faridabad, Safe Haryana and Developed Haryana is the aim of the Congress and we will not let criminals remain in Haryana when the Congress government is formed." Hooda further lauded the effort of party workers and leaders during the Lok Sabha elections, and gave a tough fight to BJP. “You have conquered half the front. After 3 months, there is a chance to conquer the whole front in the assembly elections. This time our target is the victory of Congress in all the assembly constituencies of Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency,” he said.

Himachal CM inspects tourism and water sports activities in Andrauli

Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inspected water sports activities in Andrauli in the Kutlehar Assembly constituency of district Una today. He lauded the efforts of district administration for promoting these activities. The Chief Minister said that the state government was giving added priority promoting the tourism sector and harnessing hydropower and renewable energy sources to make Himachal a self-reliant state. He said that Himachal Pradesh was blessed with immense tourism potential and the present state government was making every possible effort to promote and develop this sector. He said that the government would develop the Andrauli area to increase footfall besides making it an attraction for tourists visiting the state. Tourism was an important sector for strengthening the state's economy and offers ample employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth. Keeping this in view,  the government was leaving no stone unturned to make Himachal the most favourite tourism destination for the visitors, said the Chief Minister.
