Cleanliness Fortnight begins at NTPC CMHQ

NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters Ranchi is observing Swachhta Pakhwada 2024 from September 17 to October 2, a fortnight celebration under initiative of the Indian Government to promote cleanliness and sanitation across various sectors of society. With commencement of Swachhta Pakhwada today, Swachhta Pledge was administered by Regional Executive Director ( Coal Mining) Chief Executive Officer (NML) Animesh Jain in the august presence of CGM ( SSC - C&M), Naveen Jain, Heads of the Department, Senior Officials and employees. The pledge emphasized on voluntarily devoting 100 hours’ time in a year and at least 2 hours in a week by everyone for promoting cleanliness and encouraging others to get involved in Swachhta Mission for making the Country clean. Various programmes like cleanliness drive at public places, poetry competition for school children, workshop on waste segregation and management, Street plays will be organised during Swachhta Pakhwada on cleanliness

DPS Ranchi shines in CBSE Chess Championship

The Chess Team of Delhi Public School Ranchi has qualified for the National Level in CBSE East Zone Chess Championship 2024. Representing the state of Jharkhand, the Under - 17 Girls Team (Anima Thakur, Aadya Ranjan, Ananya Jhawar and Kyna Malhotra) emerged as Champions and secured Gold Medal. Anima Thakur, Aadya Ranjan, Kyna Malhotra and Jaivardhan bagged "Board Prizes" as they defeated every opponent in their group. Total 07 teams participated in this event. The National Level of the competition is scheduled to be held in Punjab from 25th to 28th October.

E-Waste Awareness Campaign at AUJ

OPPO India, in partnership with the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has extended the second leg of their ‘Generation Green’ campaign to Amity University Jharkhand (AUJ). This nationwide electronic-waste (e-waste) awareness drive recognizes Amity University Jharkhand, as an ‘Eco-Conscious Champion Institute’ under the programme. The ceremony at Amity University Jharkhand was graced by Dr. Ashok Kumar Srivastava, VC, Yatinder Kumar Das, IFS, Additional PCCF, Van Bhawan, as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Rakesh Bhardwaj, Head of Public Affairs at OPPO India, Mahadev Toppo, Tribal Researcher and Social Activist, among other dignitaries. The students from Amity University Jharkhand and neighbouring schools were actively engaged in a diverse range of activities—such as Nukkad Natak, poster-making competitions, best-out-of-waste crafts, and other performances—to raise awareness about the responsible management of e-waste.
