Birsa Munda Jail inmate commits suicide

An undertrial prisoner committed suicide on Friday in Birsa Munda Central Jail. The prisoner has been identified as Mangara Oraon. He was in jail there since 2017. He was accused of killing his wife. Khelagaon police has taken the body in its custody and started investigating the matter. Mangara Oraon committed suicide in the jail bathroom on Friday. According to the jail administration, Mangara Oraon was in jail since 2017. On Friday morning, Mangara Oraon went to the bathroom. When he did not come out of the bathroom for a long time, other prisoners went inside and looked, and he was found lifeless on the bathroom window. After getting information about this case, Khelgaon police took the body in its custody and sent it to RIMS hospital for post-mortem under the supervision of the magistrate. Mangara Oraon, a resident of Lohardaga district, was in jail on charges of murdering his wife. He was arrested on charges of murdering his wife, he was still under trial

4 arrested in CID DySP robbery case

CID DySP Sarita Murmu was robbed of her chain by bike-borne criminals near Kachhari Chowk. A police team led by Kotwali DySP Prakash Soy took action and arrested four people including two criminals involved in the incident. Farhan Ansari and Zahid Khan, who were involved in the robbery, have been arrested. Rajesh Soni and Mukesh Kumar have also been arrested by Ranchi Police on charges of buying the stolen chain. Ajay Soni is still absconding in the case. 11500 rupees have also been seized along with the stolen gold chain on the information given by the arrested criminals. SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha and City SP Rajkumar Mehta gave this information in a press conference on Friday.

Chariot Festival Celebration at SCS

Surendranath Centenary School celebrated the Chariot Festival on 5th July 2024 with great enthusiasm featuring active participation from Pre Nursery, Nursery and KG classes.  The event marked a memorable bagless day, focusing on group activities and traditional festivities. The highlight of the event was the decoration of chariots, a collaborative effort that showcased the students' creativity. Dressed in traditional attire the children pulled the beautifully adorned chariots around a lively mela (fair) exploring the various displays, rides and play things. Three students dressed up as lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra added a touch of authenticity to the celebration.  The event concluded with a lively dance performance.
