Sunday, 15 September 2024 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Resolving over 8,000 cases, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) collected Rs 13.75 crore at the Lok Adalat held at all municipal ward and zone offices on Saturday.

Over 8,800 taxpayers benefited from the drive, which continued late into the evening. As per instructions issued by Commissioner Harendra Narayan, the municipal staff devised and implemented a comprehensive plan for the National Lok Adalat camps and ensured that no taxpayer left without making a tax payment.

Senior municipal officials maintained strict vigilance at the camps held at ward offices and provided necessary guidance to the revenue staff.

From early morning on Saturday, the influx of taxpayers at the camps held in all municipal zones and ward offices began and continued into the evening.

As of the latest update, more than 8,800 taxpayers have taken advantage of the discounts and waivers offered at the camps and deposited over Rs 13.75 crore into the municipal treasury. Municipal officers are still negotiating with account holders, and the revenue collection figures are expected to rise.
