As part of its sanitation efforts, Bhopal Municipal Corporation has launched a multi-layer plastic plant in collaboration with a private company.
The collaboration with Terrapharm ESG has resulted in a waste management system at the Adampur landfill. The plant converts plastic waste, such as polyethylene bags, chocolate wrappers, and snack packets, into environmentally friendly plastic boards that are strong, durable, and an excellent alternative to plywood.
The multi-layer plastic (Dutch) recycling plant has been initiated at the Adampur landfill site under the joint supervision of the Municipal Corporation and the private partner. The waste received at the new plant will be purchased at designated rates, resulting in the creation of strong, durable, and environmentally friendly plastic boards.
These plastic boards will not only serve as an alternative to plywood but will also be recognised as a green product.Recycled plastic products help reduce deforestation and conserve natural resources, while contributing to making the city waste-free and helping protect the green cover in the state capital.
