Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan, on Wednesday, led a workshop for Nodal Officers, Health Officers, Assistant Health Officers, Ward Officers, and Supervisors involved in door-to-door waste collection.
He said that the clean appearance of the city was due to the efforts of sanitation workers and officials but stressed the need to maintain and enhance this cleanliness to improve the city’s ranking in the Swachh Survekshan.
Narayan instructed that the Cleanliness Survey 2024 standards should be followed, ensuring more effective cleaning operations. Presentations were made on waste management practices such as segregation, collection, transportation, disposal, and the scientific closure of the Bhanpur dumping site.

Suggestions were gathered on practical difficulties in cleanliness work, with a focus on improvement. Narayan emphasised better segregation of wet, dry, and other types of waste, and stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness in back lanes, green belts, and public spaces.
