BJP yet to announce candidate from Tundi seat

Monday, 21 October 2024 | PNS | Dhanbad

Though BJP has already given 10 seats to AJSU baring  Tundi seat   but has not  announced its candidate on it too in first list. This has made BJP party workers suapisious that on last moment it may announce this  seat  for AJSU since great grand son of BinodBihari Mahto stakes claim on this seat as AJSU candidate.

Rahul Kumar Mahato claim on Tundi assembly seat of Dhanbad probably has put BJP in a fix thus has not announced its candidate for this seat as wants to give clear message to Mahto Kurmi community across Jharkhand that has huge  respect for  Chanakya of Jharkhand and founder president of the Jharkhand Mukti Morch late Binod  Bihari Mahto as well his  son of  Rajkishore  Mahto.

Rahul claims it to be its natural claiment as his grand father and great grand father represented this seat  in differnt years. While  Binod Babu represented this seat in Bihar  Assembly in 1980 and 1990 as JMM candidate . RajKishor Mahto represented it in Jharkhand assembly in 2014  as Ajsu candidate but had lost in 2019.

Its appears that AJSU  supremo has  asked for this has for Rahul but it would be intresting to see that would BJP ask his to join party or give seat to AJSU.

It's  worth mentioning that  since 2000 BJP has never won this seat though has given candidats.

Local resident and  Rajeev Ojha has bee lobbing for BJP ticket. He has prity good clout in  party  headquarters  and was on top of that candidate lists for this  seat.

However, even if  Rahul is given ticket would have direct fight with sitting JMM MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto who too comes from same community  and has represented is seat for three consicutive terms and JMM has reposed faith on him again.

As elections on this seat is in second phase one would  have to wait till end  of this month for final candidate from NDA fold.
