BJP reduced reservation for backward classes: Kalpana

Sunday, 10 November 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

In an election rally organised in favour of Congress candidate Amba Prasad in Barkagaon, Gandey Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA Kalpana Soren said that  when Jharkhand became a State, the people of BJP itself reduced the reservation for backward classes from 27 per cent to 14 per cent. When the party got the bill passed from the assembly to give 27 per cent reservation to backward classes, they did not have the courage to speak, he added.

Regarding the reduction of reservation for backward classes by BJP, Kalpana Soren said, These people only talk about the party, not about the people. "Whether it is the reservation bill from the assembly or the tribal Sarna Dharma Code, we get it passed. Today our Mahagathbandhan government is standing to bring that 27 per cent reservation," he added.

The JMM MLA slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Kalpana Soren said that the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh had come here a few days ago. "What does he want to say by riding on a bulldozer? Was he trying to say that bulldozers will be used on the houses of the local people of Barkagaon? No Yogi ji, this is Jharkhand, not UP, there will be no bulldozers here, the Mahagathbandhan's vehicle of development will run here. Big leaders come here, but they do not talk about basic needs, they only talk about mutual differences," he added.

Kalpana Soren said that the Mahagathbandhan Government will ensure 95 per cent participation of the local people in all the mining companies running here. "All of you need to think why big leaders come only during elections but Amba Prasad of Barkagaon always stands among you. In your happiness and sorrow," he added.
