BJP legal cell targets AG for praising state govt schemes

Thursday, 12 September 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP's State Coordinator of Legal Cell, Sudhir Shrivastava has termed the state government announcement for advocates as eyewash and said that the way the Advocate General is praising the government, it seems he is less like an Advocate General and more like a worker of JMM's Legal Cell.

Advocate General is a constitutional post and that post has dignity. The way the Advocate General was praising the government today, keeping aside the constitutional post, it has become clear that the Hemant government is not capable of fighting political battles, now the Hemant government is fighting political battles by putting its officers and Advocate General forward instead of leaders.

Sudhir Shrivastava told that recently the Principal Secretary of the Jharkhand Cabinet Secretariat Vigilance Department of the government, Vandana Dadel, had written a letter to the Election Commission and filed a complaint against the BJP leaders and today the Advocate General said that Jharkhand is the first state in the country where the government is making lawyers financially strong by connecting them with its schemes.

The Advocate General should also tell that this is the first time that the Advocate General is praising the work of the government by holding a press conference inside the High Court premises. Sudhir Srivastava said that the Advocate General should also tell that the Hemant government had increased the court fees tenfold in 2021 and then the advocates had decided to boycott the work and at that time the Advocate General had described the work boycott of the advocates as against the order of the Supreme Court and a case of contempt.

On 6 and 7 January 2023, on the instructions of the Bar Council, more than 35000 advocates had decided to boycott the court proceedings. On the other hand, the Advocate General had instructed all the advocates of the state government on 6 January 2023 to go to the court and work and on 7 January, in the dialogue organized by the Chief Minister, the government advocates of all the districts were instructed to participate in the program.

The Advocate General should also tell how many advocates were killed in the Hemant government and how many cases were registered against the advocates. Now the Hemant government has only a few days left, so the Advocate General should also start counting his posts on his fingers.
