While the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state and Central governments are committed to maintaining law and order, some leaders of the ruling party are busy taking law in their hand and are not even sparing the members of law enforcing agencies.

The latest case is from Mathura district, where a BJP Yuva Morcha leader along with his goons openly beat up a sub-inspector on the road and also tried to run his car over the cop.

The incident took place on Tuesday night and the BJP leader involved in it was said to be Sumit Saraswat, who assaulted the policeman. During the fight, the sub-inspector’s uniform was torn and the gold chain he was wearing around his neck also broke. The BJP leader also tried to run his car over the sub-inspector, who had a narrow escape.

As a large crowd gathered at the spot, more force had to be called from the police station. The police arrested four people from the spot in this assault case. Raids were also being conducted in search of others, including Saraswat.

On receiving information about stone-pelting and firing, SP (City) and CO (Refinery) along with the in-charge of Balajipuram outpost also reached the spot. It is said that the accused BJP leader has created a terror among the people in the area. A few days ago, Sumit Saraswat had beaten up the councilor and other people. During this, weapons were also openly brandished. The whole matter is of Balajipuram Tomar intersection of Thana Highway area in Mathura.
