BJP asked me to take Kejriwal’s name to escape from excise policy case: Sisodia

Senior AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday alleged that  the BJP tried to poach him and asked him to take Kejriwal’s name to escape from the alleged Delhi excise policy case. He vowed to return to public office only when the people validate their integrity, emphasizing the unfinished mission of reforming Delhi’s education system. Notably, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi did not speak at the Janta ki Adalat at Jantar Mantar.

“They used to tell me about this court case and everything will go for very long. , You are in this situation because of Kejriwal. Bolte the aap ki wife bimar hai, beta bahar hai, aap chhodo ye sab (Your wife and son are unwell, you should leave all this). They asked me to take the name of Kejriwal to escape from the case,” Sisodia said while addressing at the Janta ki Adalat at Jantar Mantar.

“I used to smile and tell them (BJP) also, “you are trying to separate Laxman from Ram” . “Koshish bhi mat karna, koi ravan kamyab nahi hua. Arvind Kejriwal has been my guru and brother for 26 years,” he said.

“I told my wife about this and asked her what my workers and karyakartas will say about me. How will I show my face to them. My wife said, party karyakarta chhodo, tum mujhe kya muh dikhaoge (Leave it party worker, what face will you show me),” he said.

The Former Deputy CM said that when they couldn’t break me from within, they tried to break me from the outside. “They used to send me messages, saying that I didn’t realize I had been tricked by Arvind Kejriwal. I would tell them that he had tricked me 26 years ago, and I have been dedicated to the same work ever since. Their shamelessness reached a point where, after arresting Arvind Kejriwal, the CBI lied in court, saying that he had named me, putting all the blame on me. That same day, the CBI came to me, saying that since Arvind Kejriwal had mentioned my name, it would be better if I also implicated him to save myself,” he said

“No Ravana in the world can separate Lakshmana from Rama,” declared Sisodia, pledging unwavering loyalty to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal in their fight against “Ravana of dictatorship.”

AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal held the ‘Adalat’ in order to address the corruption charges levelled against him in the excise policy case after spending six months in jail. It was at Jantar Mantar in 2011 that Kejriwal, then an RTI activist, alongside Anna Hazare, had launched a nation-wide anti-corruption movement demanding the creation of a Jan Lokpal to curb corruption. The agitation had received massive public support from across the country and had played a significant role in laying the foundation for the AAP’s emergence.

The AAP Delhi State Convenor and Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said  “The BJP first tried to stop the work through the LG, but the work continued. After that, they imprisoned Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, MP Sanjay Singh, and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. When the work in Delhi didn’t stop despite these efforts, the BJP thought that, like in other states, it could topple the Delhi government by putting the top leadership of the AAP in jail.” He further said, “The BJP may have the power of the ED and CBI, as well as money and influence, but Arvind Kejriwal has the power of public support.”
