In a significant political triumph, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a decisive victory in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat, with Bidyut Baran Mahto emerging as the winner against Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's (JMM) Samir Kumar Mohanty. Mahto clinched the seat with an overwhelming margin of 2,59,782 votes, reflecting the electorate's strong preference for the BJP in this constituency.
As per data received from the administration, Mahto received maximum votes 145482 from Jamshedpur East Assembly, the strong bastion of saffron party. The sitting MP also received 101784 votes from Baharagora assembly seat despite the fact that Samir Mohanty is sitting MLA from here.

Bidyut Baran Mahto's educational background reveals a modest academic achievement, with an intermediate in science from Tata College Chaibasa of Ranchi University in 1983. Despite not having advanced formal education, Mahto's political acumen has propelled him to significant heights.
Financially, Mahto is well-established. According to his election affidavit, he owns property worth ₹3 crores. His assets include a Fortuner and a Scorpio, while his wife also drives her own Scorpio. The affidavit also lists his possession of firearms, including a revolver and a rifle, with his wife owning a 12 bore gun, indicating a penchant for firearms.
