Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) performed its best by winning 34 seats in the Jharkhand assembly elections. With this historic victory, Hemant Soren will take oath as the Chief Minister for the fourth time on November 28. Before taking oath, Hemant Soren reached his native village Nemra with his wife Kalpana Soren on Wednesday, where he attended the ceremony organized on the martyrdom day of his grandfather Sobaran Soren.
Acting Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute to martyr Sobaran Soren on his 67th martyrdom day by garlanding his statue located at the martyr's place in Lukaiyatand, Nemra, Gola, Ramgarh. During this, Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi was also present. The martyrdom day of martyr Sobaran Soren holds special significance for Hemant Soren and his family and the cultural heritage of Jharkhand.
I visit this place every year to pay homage to my grandfather Sobaran Soren," he told reporters on Wednesday. Soren also invited his villagers to attend the oath-taking ceremony of his government at Ranchi's Morabadi ground. While addressing them at Lukaiyatand in Nemra, he said the work for government formation was underway. "From tomorrow onwards, a new innings of Abua Sarkar (our government) will start. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled on Thursday. I invite you all to attend the ceremony. You all have worked very hard to bring the Abua Sarkar again in power," Soren told villagers.
Sobaran was killed by Mahajans (moneylenders) when Shibu was 15 years old. Since then, the JMM chief has been visiting here with family to pay homage to his father. Hemant too continues that tradition.
Nemra, Hemant’s native village, is situated amidst dense forests and hills near Bengal border, approximately 25 kilometres from Gola block in Ramgarh district. It is also the birthplace of Shibu Soren.
Hemant Soren's JMM-led alliance on Saturday stormed to power in Jharkhand for a second consecutive term, winning 56 seats in the 81-member assembly, despite an all-out blitz by the NDA, which managed only 24 seats. Top leaders of the INDIA bloc, including Congress's Rahul Gandhi and RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, are likely to attend the ceremony.
Hemant Soren and his wife were recently on a visit to Delhi. He met many leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Arvind Kejriwal and invited everyone to attend the swearing-in ceremony to be held at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi on November 28.
The India alliance has won a big victory in the Jharkhand assembly elections. This has further strengthened the position of JMM in the state. This visit of Hemant Soren is important not only personally but also politically, which indicates his connection with his roots and the people.
