Yogesh Deshmukh, Additional Director General of Police, State Cyber Police Headquarters Bhopal recently directed to take effective action to prevent and resolve cyber financial fraud. In the action taken in compliance with the above instructions, State Cyber ??Cell Indore, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Singh informed that an FIR was registered on 09/05/2023, in which it is said that the original complainant, a resident of Australia, was cheated in the name of Apple Company in the name of making a project for it by taking an amount of about 1,77,000 Australian dollars (Indian currency value about 1 crore rupees) and not doing the work. In this regard, the relatives of the local applicant who work in Australia are said to be acquainted with the original complainant, through which a notary was prepared in Australia to register the complaint, and due to the non-applicant/accused being located in Indore, the applicant located in Indore was authorized to register the complaint in Indore.

Taking immediate action under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police  Narendra Raghuvanshi, a police team was formed consisting of Inspector Dinesh Verma along with Sub Inspector Sanjay Chaudhary, R Rakesh Bamnia. Statement of the local complainant was taken, in which he was asked to return his money, to take back his project made so far, to take back server hosting credentials and for police action. Statement of the original complainant, resident of Australia, was taken through video conferencing. Transaction related information was obtained from the concerned bank in India for the amount given by the complainant to the accused, in which the amount was found to have been transferred in parts to the bank account of the accused.

The problem being faced in running the web application made by the non-applicant/accused for the original complainant on Apple's web browser (Safari) was told by the non-applicant to the original complainant, and to obtain technical code for smooth operation in Apple company's device and to have partnership with Apple company. For all these works, the original complainant kept giving money to the respondent in installments from time to time. The respondent said that he had taken money to buy shares of Apple company to become a partner in it, for which no share certificate was given to the applicant. In order to enter into an agreement with Apple company, it was said that it was necessary for the NGO to be associated with Apple company. For this, the respondent took money from the original complainant to form the NGO. Later, money was also taken from the original complainant by telling that PAN card was required for the NGO, but he never provided the documents of the NGO or the PAN card to the original complainant.

The accused Mayank Saluja also applied for anticipatory bail in the Hon'ble District Court and High Court, from where his anticipatory bail application was rejected.

The accused was also found to have sold his old house. Continuous efforts were being made by the Cyber ??Cell to find out his new address. Using technical means, the new address of the accused was found and the accused was arrested.

During interrogation, the accused told that the original complainant, a resident of Australia, had bought the domain of the website himself, for which the accused was charging money for the work done on it. The hosting of the said website was earlier done by the original complainant on hostgeek. After that, on the request of the accused, he transferred the hosting to the accused, due to which whatever work was being done on the website by the accused, its payment was made by the accused.
