Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Thursday directed all the Government and Private Medical Institutes in the state to start allocating internships to the foreign medical graduates (FMGs).
Terming that the Punjab Government has been actively working to resolve critical issues being faced by the foreign medical graduates, Dr Balbir said that the entire process to allocate internships is being streamlined to reduce the administrative bottlenecks.
“We are collaborating with medical institutions across Punjab and Chandigarh to make available the maximum number of available internship slots for foreign medical graduates,” he said, while adding that this will ensure that all eligible graduates can promptly begin their internships.
The Health Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed to implement the orders of the Supreme Court and guidelines of National Medical Commission (NMC).
