Dr Raghvendra Kumar Vidua, Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at AIIMS Bhopal, is set to conduct a National Level PG Quiz at AIIMS Nagpur on January 19th, 2024. The event is a highlight of the 45th Annual Conference of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine, known as Forensic Medicon 2024.
This year, AIIMS Nagpur will host the largest national conference in the field of forensics, providing a platform for postgraduate students in forensics from across the country.
The prestigious quiz will take place at the Bernard Knight Hall at AIIMS Nagpur, challenging the academic mettle of PG students and fostering healthy competition. It is noteworthy that AIIMS Bhopal, already recognized for its annual UG-level National Quiz for MBBS students, expands its footprint by conducting the PG Quiz at AIIMS Nagpur, further contributing to the academic and research excellence in the field of forensic medicine. Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director AIIMS Bhopal has extended his wishes for the success of the PG Quiz.
In addition to his role as the quiz master, Dr. Raghvendra Kumar Vidua will also present research data derived from a two-year study conducted at AIIMS Bhopal. The research project, funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), focuses on Postmortem Sperm Retrieval. Initial findings from the study suggest the possible recovery of live spermatozoa from deceased bodies for up to 20 hours after death under Indian conditions.
This pioneering research marks the first of its kind in India, and in terms of the number of retrievals, it stands as the largest study worldwide. The comprehensive annual report detailing the outcomes of this groundbreaking study has been submitted to the ICMR.
Dr. Arneet Arora and Dr. Ashwani Tandon serve as co-investigators in this significant research project.
