The Department of Pharmacology at AIIMS Bhopal, serving as both a Medical Devices Adverse Event Reporting Monitoring Centre (MDMC) and a Regional Training Centre Materiovigilance (RTC-M) for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), led by Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Bhopal, remains unwavering in its dedication to enhancing safety surveillance for medical devices across the region. The department successfully conducted an awareness campaign on adverse events associated with medical devices. This campaign was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS Bhopal.
The event took place at Anganwadi Imalia, Village Imalia, Block Phanda, District Bhopal, with the aim of educating the local community about the importance of recognizing and reporting adverse events related to medical devices. The campaign was held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, and saw active participation from the local community.
Through interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into identifying and reporting adverse events associated with medical devices.
The doctors and research scholars of AIIMS Bhopal, emphasized the critical need for reporting such events to enhance patient safety and improve healthcare outcomes. The participants were also provided detailed guidance on the reporting process, ensuring that the attendees understood the procedures thoroughly.
